Critical Mass is a term that was originally applied to cyclists who, inside of riding alone, traveled as a group through their neighborhoods. The idea was for bicyclists to group together to make it safe for each other to ride bicycles through otherwise dangerous streets, based on the old mantra: there's safety in numbers.

This same philosophy can be applied to climate change. While it may be impossible for a single person to save our planet, when we group together, we can collectively put a stop to rising temperatures, receding shorelines, extinction, and sea level rise. Critical Mass, as applied to climate change, is more than a call to action. It is a return to collective thinking.
